- Last updated:
- July 18, 2026
- Version:
- 1.0
1. Purpose
Convrse is a platform under development for freelance journalists, writers, storytellers, and other participants. Access is provided for testing, evaluation, feedback, and platform-development purposes.
2. Confidential Environment
Unless Convrse gives written permission, participants must not publicly disclose, publish, transmit, distribute, demonstrate, or share confidential information learned through platform access.
- Unreleased features, designs, layouts, screenshots, and recordings
- Product roadmaps, business models, monetization plans, and internal workflows
- Proprietary terminology, technical functionality, software behavior, source code, and database structures
- Documentation, testing materials, private discussions, unpublished content, and information belonging to other users
3. Limited Exceptions
Confidential information excludes information lawfully known without a confidentiality obligation, made public without a violation, independently developed without Convrse confidential information, or legally required to be disclosed. When legally permitted, provide reasonable notice before required disclosure.
4. Intellectual Property and Ownership
All rights in the Convrse platform remain with Convrse and its applicable owner or licensors. This includes legally protectable software, source code, original expression, graphics, branding, logos, designs, interfaces, organization, workflows, documentation, databases, media, feature combinations, terminology, trade secrets, and other intellectual property.
Alpha participation transfers no ownership. The only license granted is limited, revocable permission to access and test the platform under this agreement.
5. Prohibited Conduct
Participants must use the alpha responsibly and only for approved testing.
- Do not copy private-alpha material except as necessary for approved testing or publicly post screenshots or recordings
- Do not share credentials, provide unauthorized access, use another account, scrape data, or collect information about users without authorization
- Do not circumvent security, probe maliciously, upload harmful code, interfere with operations, or seek source code or private database information
- Do not reverse engineer except where applicable law expressly prohibits the restriction
- Do not use confidential information to create or assist a competing product, misrepresent affiliation, or misuse another participant's information
6. Participant Content
Participants retain ownership of their original stories, notes, recordings, photographs, documents, pitches, and other submitted content. Convrse receives only the limited rights reasonably necessary to host, process, display, transmit, moderate, back up, and operate that content within the platform.
Uploading content does not transfer ownership. Participants are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for submitted material.
7. Feedback
Convrse may use voluntarily submitted suggestions, feature requests, bug reports, testing observations, and interface recommendations to develop and improve the platform without payment or obligation. This does not transfer ownership of separately created journalism or other original work.
8. Privacy of Other Participants
Participants may encounter private profiles, contact details, drafts, discussions, pitches, sources, concepts, or unpublished work. They may not copy, exploit, disclose, contact, harass, or misuse another participant's private information.
9. No Guarantee of Availability
The platform may contain bugs, errors, incomplete features, interruptions, data loss, experimental functionality, or features that change or disappear. Convrse may suspend, modify, reset, or discontinue platform functionality. Maintain independent copies of important work.
10. Suspension or Termination
Convrse may suspend or terminate access for agreement violations, security threats, misuse of information, unauthorized sharing, harmful conduct, or legal and operational risk. Confidentiality, intellectual-property, participant-privacy, and prohibited-use obligations survive termination where applicable.
11. No Employment or Partnership
Participation creates no employment, joint venture, partnership, agency, compensation promise, or promise of future platform access.
12. Changes
Material updates will receive a new version and require new affirmative acceptance. Prior acceptance records remain historical evidence and are not silently treated as acceptance of changed terms.
13. Contact
Legal contact: [ADD OFFICIAL CONVRSE EMAIL]
14. Acceptance
Selecting each acceptance checkbox and pressing the acceptance button means the participant has read, understands, and agrees to this Alpha Tester Agreement.
This agreement is intended to establish expectations for participation in the Convrse platform. It should be reviewed by a licensed attorney before broad commercial use.
